SAFETY EQUIPMENT: The check-in trailer ran out of fire-suits, so we had to wait. Participants are later told to ignore those instructions. The video instructions (and visual aids) regarding driving line and cornering aren’t even applicable to NHMS. TRAINING: The training video is specific to Charlotte Motor Speedway or some similar 1.5 mile high-banked speedway. And then you have to deal with slower cars and the 2-seater ride-along on the track at the same time. Actual “racing session” time is only 2 or 3 minutes. However, the 5 minutes includes the time being pushed, the blend-in/warm-up lap, and the time coasting back into pit lane. After being at the track for about 3 hours, I finally got my opportunity to race for 5 minutes. RACING TIME: The “Practice Experience” is advertised as a “5 minute timed racing session”. That said, I had several significant concerns about the program and my customer experience. I find it exhilarating whenever I get the chance to climb into a race car, even if it’s only for 5 minutes. Let me start by stating that I did this with my son, and I had a good time regardless of the shortcomings. I've done 3 or 4 of these "racing experiences" with various companies, so I feel I have some experience that I can leverage to provide a fair review.
